About Us

Mohsena Memorial Foundation established Husayn Center for Social Justice in October 2015 and serves as our fiscal sponsor, allowing us to collect tax-deductible donations. Husayn Center was envisioned as a Muslim-run non-profit created to address the social issues in Trenton, NJ through social services and advocacy including family empowerment, community organizing, and artistic and cultural expression. The examples of the Prophet Muhammad and his Holy Family (peace be upon them) are the inspiration behind this work.

Husayn Center started by raising funds from local communities, which were used to implement a Needs Assessment in Trenton followed by a Strategic Planning process. At the same time, we continued to host events with local organizations and facilitated informal and formal community discussions.

The eventual goal of Husayn Center is to evolve our work into a physical center located in Trenton.
